Part of my Art Deco Architecture appreciation series, this print captures the timeless elegance of the Beacon Hotel on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. Bathed in morning sunlight, the hotel's iconic facade with its geometric lines, rounded edges, and distinctive blue accents embodies the vibrant charm of Miami's historic Art Deco District. The human elements add a touch of life and context as the scene depicts the early morning hours of peace and quiet you can find in what is normally one of the loudest, most congested parts of the city. And that is how you'll distinguish between locals and tourists. The latter are still in bed nursing their hangovers. The former are savoring the morning before retreating from the army of visitors and the criminal price-gauged food and drink options. Even the shadows from the palm trees will slowly recede as the chaos begins. I can personally testify to it. On the rare days that I feel compelled to get up before the sun, there are few things so pleasant to savor in this city.
